SuperiorSlides is the only company that allows you to PREarrange your slides!
At SuperiorSlides you can send your slides in the sequence you want them processed and stored on the
disc. No other company allows you to do this. Others will try to convince you it is easier for you to arrange
your slide images on a computer, after they are in a digital format. Nothing could be further from the truth!
Allowing a company to ignore slide arrangement and sequence only makes the job of the person
processing your order much easier. It certainly does not benefit the customer!
Think about the information you have available to you if you arrange your slides while they are slides. If the
slides are in carousels, boxes, cubes or other containers there may be information written on the
container that is helpful in determining the date and/or subject matter of the slides. Many times there is a
processing date printed on the slide mount and sometimes there is a note written on the slide mount***.
This information is extremely useful when organizing and arranging your slides. With this information
you're more likely to be able to organize and arrange your slides in a meaningful way.
If your slides are in carousels or other containers that have numbered slots wouldn't it be nice if the digital
images you receive are in the same sequence as the numbered slots? There is probably a reason the
slides were inserted into those slots in that sequence. Most likely the slots were filled in the same
sequence that the slides were taken.
If the processor you chose does not maintain the slide arrangement and sequence you provide you'll
have to arrange your slide images with no other information except the image itself!
Let's say you have 500 slides loose in a shoe box and you'd like to arrange them by date. Would you
rather grab a handful of slides from the shoe box and "deal them out" as if they were a deck of cards to the
appropriate year piles (by looking at the processing date imprinted on the slide) or would you rather have
500 small thumbnail images of your slides on a computer screen and try to sort them only by the image?
Hmmm, is that Great Aunt Betty in 1956 or 1957? Maybe that isn't even Great Aunt Betty. Maybe that's
Great Aunt Betty's daughter in 1976? And that image of a cute little boy; is that Bobby in 1961 or Jimmy in
1965? It isn't easy when all you have is an image. Don't be fooled, POST-arranging is good for the
processor, PREarranging is good for you!

*** My favorite story about a note written on the cardboard mount of a slide:
In the early years of SuperiorSlides we had a policy that if a slide was clear or black we would skip it. After
all, we didn't want to charge a customer for a slide that was clearly a dud but we changed our philosophy
the day I was about to skip a slide that appeared to be totally black except for the smallest white dot on it.
As I was putting the slide back into the carousel from which it came I noticed a notation on the cardboard
slide mount. It struck me as odd that anyone would write a note on a slide that was clearly a dud so I read
the notation. It said "Sputnik". That slide that I deemed a dud was actually a very important image and
certainly had great significance to the photographer (and the world). That is an example of information
found only on the slide itself. That single slide also resulted in a new company policy which is, if you send
it, we'll process it.
